Adidas Goes Retro with London Originals Collection for Wimbledon 2025 Kits
It's back to basics with a 36-piece lineup that blends retro flair with modern performance. They even brought back the old-school logo.
Wimbledon is less than two weeks away, and some sporting goods brands are offering a sneak peek at their All England Club attire.
Today, we check out Adidas, which is going old school, and I love it! Adidas is taking a stylish swing at tradition with the launch of its London Originals Collection, a 36-piece lineup that blends retro flair with modern performance.
Inspired by the era-defining looks of legends like Stan Smith and Billie Jean King, the collection revives 1970s silhouettes with a contemporary edge. It also brings the Trefoil, the old-school Adidas logo, back to the grass for the first time in over 30 years.
Designed for the baseline and the boulevard, the collection channels vintage tennis aesthetics with a nod to the 1972 London tournament. Think open collars, argyle-inspired polos, pleated skirts, snap pants with dramatic flair, and clever details like tennis ball zip pullers and Trefoil tape linings. It’s a full-court press of heritage and innovation.
The apparel lineup includes dresses, tanks, skirts, and polos for women, as well as tees, shorts, and long-sleeve options for men, each crafted in a tight white-and-green palette that pays homage to the tournament’s strict dress code and storied lawns.
Function meets fashion thanks to Adidas’ CLIMACOOL and CLIMACOOL+ tech, which is woven into pieces like the FreeLift Tee Pro and Polo Pro. These moisture-wicking garments are designed to offer distraction-free play.
And it’s not just about clothing—accessories like a tennis bag, bucket hat, and handbag round out the collection, pushing the nostalgia even further while keeping it fresh for 2025. These kits are so simple, yet elegant.
“I see clips of matches from that era, always appreciating the style on show, so I love the idea that adidas is recapturing that through pieces that feel and look amazing, both on and off the court,” said Stefanos Tsitsipas in an adidas press release.
