Professional tennis is a highly competitive and demanding sport where the margin between victory and defeat can be razor-thin. 

The pressure to perform at the highest level consistently is immense. For some players, the temptation to use performance-enhancing drugs to gain an edge becomes too enticing to resist. 

Given the way doping violations are handled in tennis, there may be more incentive than a deterrent.
